CanTeach was created in 1997/98 to assist teachers in finding and using resources online. Although this site has resources which all educators will find useful, emphasis is placed on lesson plans, resources, & links which have a Canadian focus. The resources are broken up into two categories. There is a section of Elementary Resources which consists of lesson plans and resources, as well as a section of annotated Links.

It is part of The Annenberg Foundation and advances the Foundation's goal of encouraging the development of more effective ways to share ideas and knowledge. Annenberg Media's multimedia resources help teachers increase their expertise in their fields and assist them in improving their teaching methods. Many programs are also intended for students in the classroom and viewers at home. All Annenberg Media videos exemplify excellent teaching.
